About Nick

“Delving deep into the realms of indie folk with rootsy abandon…This tunesmith really shines” - Aldora Britain Records

“An undiscovered talent, I like what he does a lot. If you're a folk club, book him while you can afford him!” - Ian Freedman, The Readifolk Radio Show

A veteran of the Americana and DIY punk scenes, Nick Streeter was always the singing drummer everyone wanted to steal. He has been lucky enough to tour extensively in the UK and abroad and has seen action on festival stages (Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Indie-tracks and more) and venues big and small all over the place. Now relocated in sunny Liverpool, he has cultivated his own unique sound and voice. Writing songs with warmth, humour and compassion bought to life with soulful vocals, acostic guitar, thumping bass drum and jangling tambourine.

With influences like Mark Knopfler, Dave Van Ronk, The Byrds and Nick Drake, Nicks' live sets are full of passion, humour and a little fire.

This album isn't meant for streaming platforms. I wanted to create an intimate and accurate impression of what I sound like when I play a live show. Just me, a guitar and my various shakey and stompy bits. I recorded and mixed this album over 2 days in the middle of some very difficult personal and family stuff. Making this album kept me busy and kept my anxiety in check for a bit (though I think you can hear a bit of it in my voice). Everything was recorded as I would play it live, though separately since my audio interface only has two inputs (picture me stomping in my living room with one tambourine strapped to my shoe). There are no fancy overdubs or harmonies. Hopefully what I was trying to present comes across alright.

New Single: Cheer Up Love

My new single is out on the streaming places as well as my Bandcamp! I wrote this a couple of years ago inspired by specific and rubbish men I've encountered at gigs all over the place. A big thank you to my partner Rachel for lyrical help as well as some beautiful BVs.

Any money I make from this single will be going to the Ko-fi for Cheer Up Luv; UK-based platform dedicated to ending gender-based violence, discrimination and bias through education, art and storytelling. www.cheerupluv.com

Live In Comfort: The EP

Live In Comfort is the first thing I've put out as purely myself. I recorded it live in my living room during the summer holidays.

Mailing list

What with social media being owned and operated by fascists and the slide into algorithmic oblivion, it's difficult to stay connected with people in any meaningful way. If you want to hear the latest news about what I'm up to, you can join my mailing list! Don't worry I won't spam you with crap, once in a blue moon I'll send you a little email about what I'm up to and maybe send a virtual hug.

"Live in Comfort" available now!
